The Gene Vintage Cord Jacket

Devium’s limited-edition Gene Vintage Cord Jacket is our unique take on the classic cord trucker, and features deadstock corduroy fabric made 50 years ago on the Shenandoah River in Waynesboro, Virginia. With unique detailing, understated trims, and a surprise or two, this jacket is destined to be worn most days in most seasons. In two colors so perfect, you’ll want them both.

Why the “Gene” jacket? The name pays homage to Gene Clark, the prolific singer/songwriter who took The Byrds to success. He famously quit the band when he developed a fear of flying and other assorted neuroses. His first solo album, No Other, was released in 1974 with Clark wholly unconcerned about radio airplay, stadium sing-alongs, or anything else that could please a record label. Rolling Stone magazine covered the album’s Deluxe Reissue in late 2019, positing that Clark’s songs “aren’t played, as much as unfurled.”  Clark was buried in Tipton, Missouri at 46 beneath an epitaph that simply reads No Other.

• 100% cotton, six-wale corduroy, from the now defunct Compton-Richmond Company, manufactured in Nov. 1971 at The Mill at South River, the company’s Shenandoah Plant in Waynesboro, Virginia

We want you to love what you've spent your hard earned money on and make the process easy for you. Without question, we’ll accept any unwashed or unworn items for returns and/or exchanges within 30 days of your original purchase. If you return or exchange an item more than once, you will be charged a restocking fee of $20 to help cover our shipping costs. You will also be charged if the clothing is returned in poor shape - looks worn, is excessively wrinkled, contains excessive human or animal hair, or is poorly packaged. 

If the returns process stumps you, drop us a note at info@deviumusa.com with “RETURN” as the subject, and we’ll get things sorted out right away.

 

Please keep in mind that your exchange or return may take a few days to get in our hands again. We will do our best to handle any exchanges/returns within 24 hours of receiving. 

U.S. Shipping

We’re proud to offer free standard shipping to all 50 states on Devium orders of $125 or more. For orders less than that, shipping is a flat $8.95. 

International Shipping

We now offer international shipping on all orders. Simply enter your mailing address and select your preferred form of shipment at checkout. 

Please note that duties, taxes and carrier brokerage fees are strictly enforced, and are not included in the order amount at checkout. These will be assessed upon delivery by the postal carrier, and must be paid by the order recipient. If duties are declined and the package is sent back to us we will not refund your shipping and may apply a restocking fee up to $100.
